Patient Care
Dr Taylor is a Specialist Ophthalmologist who practices exclusively in Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Orbital Surgery.
Dr Taylor is an Ophthalmologist who works exclusively in the problems of the eyelids, orbit, eye socket and tear ducts. Oculoplastic Surgery is a demanding craft, which aims to protect & restore sight, to reconstruct the eyelid & orbital tissues to optimise their function, and to offer premium aesthetic outcomes.
Patient care starts with a consultation in the office, where we are able to review your history and previous investigations, undertake a comprehensive examination, formulate a diagnosis, and discuss a management plan. Further investigations or a biopsy may be required and can be promptly arranged. The office is on the grounds of the SAN Hospital, with rapid access to pathology and radiology services, and inpatient surgical services if required.
If surgery is considered, then the aims, techniques, potential outcomes and possible risks of surgery will be discussed. Dr Taylor will take the time to address your concerns and answer your questions until you have all the information needed to make an informed decision about surgery or intervention. We aim for the best outcome for each patient.
Throughout your patient journey, we will ensure coordinated care with your referring GP, Optometrist, Specialist Surgeon or Physician. In addition, Dr Taylor maintains close working relationships with Pathologists who specialise in the eyelid skin and orbital tissues, with Specialist Surgeons, Physicians, Dermatological surgeons, and with other Oculoplastic Surgeons in Sydney who can help with complex cases and second opinions if needed.
Dr Taylor has a strong commitment to Education and Training. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Sydney Medical School of the University of Sydney, and teaches and mentors advanced Ophthalmology trainees in his appointments to Westmead Public Hospital and the Sydney Eye Hospital.
